Start a Program
Generally a local government agency takes the lead to start an EnviroStars program in their area. Many of these agencies are responsible for state-mandated Moderate Risk Waste or Local Source Control Programs, which are charged with addressing small businesses and environmental protection issues. Each county creates their own local partnerships for implementation and administration of the EnviroStars program. All lead partners must sign a Memorandum of Agreement and a legal Licensing Agreement.
An EnviroStars Program "Start-Up Kit" will be provided to new county programs joining the Coop, including an initial packet of materials, templates, and procedures, as well as a training provided by King County's EnviroStars Program Manager. Each county's partner group is then responsible for all subsequent supplies, materials and costs incurred in implementing their program.
